The most coveted Volvo in the current days

Volvo XC90 PHEV reaches #1

The hangover is far from over, with sales (641 sales) back at 2013 levels, and YoY registrations down 67%.

The EV Share was down 0,05% to 2,39%, far, far from the 9,6% of last year.

Looking at the monthly ranking, the Monthly Best Seller award went to the BMW 330e, which set a new personal best, with 144 units sold.

Its stablemate 225xe Active Tourer performed a Year Best performance, with 80 units, but the headlining news of the month was the Third Place of the e-Golf, with 50 units (New pb), becoming the monthly best selling VW for the first time since...July '14, when the only plug-in VW's were the e-Up and e-Golf.

In the YTD ranking, there were a number of significant changes, the most important of all being the rise to YTD Best Seller Throne of the Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV, displacing the Tesla Model S to Second Place, it will be interesting to see if the sports sedan can return to #1 in June, Ladies and Gentlemen, please take your bets...

The BMW 330e also surpassed a BEV, in this case the Bimmer climbed to Third at the expense of the Nissan Leaf, that with only 18 units, it had its worst month of the year. Are buyers already waiting for the next Gen Leaf?

In an atypical year due to fiscal changes, last year Best Sellers are far from the front positions, with the best positioned being the VW Golf GTE (#9 now vs #2 in '15) and the Volvo V60 Plug-In (#11 vs #3), with the worst being the Audi A3 e-Tron, down 14(!) positions to #18...

Looking at the manufacturers ranking, Volvo stayed in the leadership (23%, down 1%), followed by a strong BMW (19%, up 3%), which displaced Tesla to Third, if only by 23 units.

If we add regular hybrids to Plug-ins, the regular hybrids recovered ground, with Toyota Yaris Hybrid winning the first place, followed in Second Place, by its Auris larger brother.

Two plug-in hybrids follow, with the Fifth position belonging to the new Generation Prius, with 88 units, it looks Dutch drivers by now are more used to the exotic new look of Toyota's Green Car.
